Dear Students, Parents and Guardians of Central CUSD #3,

These past few years have taken their toll on K – 12 education, as they have on many businesses and industries throughout the country. I think we’ve all heard it enough, but I’m going to say it again. These are unprecedented times. School districts everywhere are facing teacher shortages and experiencing staff leaving mid-year. That is not something schools normally have to deal with. So what do we do to fill these vacant positions? Sometimes we have to think outside the box. We have to look internally at the staff we currently have, as well as outside our school at the quality and quantity of applications we receive, to find the solutions that are going to best meet our district’s needs.

With that in mind, there are going to be a few changes that will take effect when we return from Christmas break.

  • Miss Brianna Hildebrand, who currently teaches 3rd grade at the middle school, will be moving to the junior high for 7th/8th grade science for 2nd semester. We are currently looking for a 3rd grade teacher to fill the vacancy this has created.

  • Mrs. Jennie Roberts has been hired as a junior high special education teacher. She will be taking over Mrs. Paben’s class. Mrs. Roberts is a Central graduate who worked for the district prior to going back to school to earn her teaching license.

  • Mrs. Ashley Paben will be moving from her current position in junior high special education to 6th grade ELA for 2nd semester.

  • Mrs. Kathleen MacGregor has resigned her position as junior high principal effective immediately, due to an unexpected need to care for a family member. While we open the search for a strong educational leader for the junior high, Mr. Matt Long and I will be sharing the duties of junior high principal. Please feel free to reach out to him,, or me,, if you have any questions or concerns.

  • Mrs. Debbie Roberts is retiring from her position as board office secretary. Mrs. Stacey Hibbert is moving from the junior high secretary position to the board office secretary. This leaves us looking for a new junior high secretary.

Wishing a Safe and Happy Holiday Season to you and yours!
